HISTORY

The Jaguar XJR-9 is prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1988. The car was designed by Tony Southgate in collaboration between the British manufacturer and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, and complied with the regulations of the Sport Prototype Championship and of that IMSA GTP.
The British Castrol Jaguar Racing TWR team with Raul Boesel, Martin Brundle, John Nielsen and Jan Lammers at the wheel of the Jaguar XJR-9 n.60 winner the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1988.

In second place the Porsche 962 n.67 with Bob Wollek, Mauro Baldi and Brian Redman with a gap of one lap, while in third position The Jaguar XJR-9 n.66 with Eddie Cheever, John Watson and Johnny Dumfries with a gap of fifteen laps. During the season Martin Brundle won the Prototype Sports Championship at the helm of the XJR-9.
