HISTORY
The Chrysler Viper GTS-R is a car that took part in the 1998 Le Mans 24 Hours. The Oreca and Chrysler teams presented themselves in 1998 as the favorites to win. The car now at the peak of its success, showed up with eight cars lined up.
The French Viper Team Oreca with David Donohue, Justin Bell and Luca Drudi at the wheel of the Chrysler Viper GTS-R n.53 finished eleventh at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1998 with a gap of thirty-four laps to winner, and winners in the class LM-GT2.
The race won by Porsche 911 GT1-98 n.26 with Laurent Aiello, Allan McNish and Stephane Ortelli, second finished Kazuyoshi Hoshino, Aguri Suzuki and Masahiko Kageyama at the wheel of the Nissan R390 GT1 n.32, while in third position Jorg Muller, Uwe Alzen and Bob Wollek with the Porsche 911 GT1-98 n.25.
