HISTORY

The McLaren – Ford Cosworth M23 is a car that participated at the Formula One World Championship in 1974. Designed in 1973 by the designer Gordon Coppuck, the car was inspired by the innovative Lotus 72D winner of the world championship in 1972 with Fittipaldi. Just the Brazilian driver passed to the Woking team at the beginning of the new season, bringing with him a lot of information about Colin Chapman’s car.

The English team with Denny Hulme at the wheel of McLaren – Ford Cosworth M23 n.6 finished seventh in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1974, with one victory in season at the Argentina Grand Prix.

The drivers championship was won by Emerson Fittipaldi that won three Grand Prix: Brazil, Belgium and Canada. McLaren also won its first constructors title.
