HISTORY

The Riley & Scott MKIII is a car that took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1996. The prototype was designed by Bill and Bob Riley.
The American Doyle Racing team with Wayne Taylor, Scott Sharp and Jim Pace at the wheel of the Riley & Scott MKIII – Oldsmobile n.19 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1996 due to broken transmission after one hundred fifty-seven laps.

The race was won by Manuel Reuter, Davy Jones and Alexander Wurz at the wheel of the TWR-Porsche WSC-95 n.7, in second the Porsche 911 GT1 n.25 with Hans-Joachim Stuck, Bob Wollek and Thierry Boutsen with a gap of one lap while in third position the Porsche 911 GT1 n.26 with Karl Wendlinger, Yannick Dalmas and Scott Goodyear with a gap of thirteen laps.
