HISTORY
The Audi R8 is a prototype that participated at the 24 hours of Le Mans 2004. The Audi decided not to participate with an official team, but to give its sports cars to private teams, just one of these was the English team.
The English Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx team with Allan McNish, Frank Biella and Pierre Kaffer at the wheel of the Audi R8 n.8 finished fifth in the 24 hours of Le Mans 2004 with a gap of twenty-nine laps to winner. The race was won by Audi of the team, Sport Team Goh with Seiji Ara, Rinaldo Capello and Tom Kristensen with the Audi R8 n.5, Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx team with Johnny Herbert, Jamie Davies and Guy Smith at the wheel of the Audi R8 n.88 finished second with a gap of forty-one seconds, while in third place at eleven laps of the ADT Champion Racing J.J.Lehto, Marco Werner and Emanuele Pirro.
