Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep with the Porsche 917 K n.22 of the Martin Racing Team won the race. In second place the Porsche 917 n.19 of John Wyer’s team with drivers Richard Attwood and Herbert Muller, distanced by one lap, while in third place the Ferrari 512 M n.12 of the North American Racing Team with drivers Sam Posey and Tony Adamowicz.
