HISTORY

The Orion LM 001 – Peugeot is a prototype that participated at the 24 hours of Le Mans 1992. The Welter Racing team with the Peugeot 905 Spyder was responsible for the construction of the first chassis and participated the model several times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, evolving the chassis in the following years.

The French Eric Bellefroid team with Walter Breuer, Marc Alexander and Frank De Vita at the wheel of the Orion LM 001 – Peugeot n.66 not classified in the 24 hours of Le Mans 1992 due insuficient distance in the race. The race won by Peugeot 905 n.1 with Mark Blundell, Yannik Dalmas and David Warwick, Masanori Sekiya, Pierre-Henry Raphanel and Kenneth Acheson with the Toyota TS010 n.33 finished in second place while in third place the other Peugeot 905 n.2 with Mauro Baldi, Philippe Alliot and Jean-Pierre Jabouille.
