HISTORY
The Japanese manufacturer is presented at the start with the victory of the LMP1 constructor championship obtained at 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The FIA to balance performance with the other non-hybrid LMP1s, increases the ballast for the two Japanese hybrids at the start. Jose Maria Lopez, Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi at the wheel of the Toyota Hybrid TS050 n.7 they arrived second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019. The trio was in the lead throughout the race but when an hour left before the checkered flag, Lopez was forced to make a double pit stop due to a problem with a right rear tire sensor and the victory went to the sister car the Toyota TS050 of Alonso, Buemi and Nakajima. In third place with five laps behind the BR Engineering – AER BR1 n.11 of the SMP Racing team led by Vandoorne, Petrov and Aleshin.
