MAZDA MXR-01 n.5
HISTORY
The Mazda MXR-01 is the prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1992. The car was designed by Nigel Stroud, for the Sport Prototype World Championship in the Group C category. The Japanese team Mazdaspeed with Maurizio Sandro Sala, Takashi Yorino and Yojiro Terada at the wheel of the Mazda MXR-01 n.6 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1992 after one hundred and sixty-four laps due to an accident.
The race was won of the Peugeot 905 n.1 with Mark Blundell, Yannik Dalmas and David Warwick, Masanori Sekiya, Pierre-Henry Raphanel and Kenneth Acheson with the Toyota TS010 n.33 finished in second place while in third place the other Peugeot 905 n.2 with Mauro Baldi, Philippe Alliot and Jean-Pierre Jabouille.
