JAGUAR XJR-9 LM n.1

HISTORY

The Jaguar XJR-9 LM is prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988. The car was designed by Tony Southgate in collaboration between the British manufacturer and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, and complied with the regulations of the Sport Prototype Championship and of that IMSA GTP. Martin Brundle and John Nielsen at the wheel of the Jaguar XJR-9 LM n.1 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988 due to engine failure

Lammers, Dumfries and Wallace won with the Jaguar XJR-9 LM n.2, the Dutch driver managed to cross the line first even in the last half hour of the race he drove without the third gear. In second place came the Porsche 962C n.17 of Stuck, Ludwig and Bell. During the season Martin Brundle won the Prototype Sports Championship at the helm of the XJR-9.
