HISTORY

The Saleen S7-R is the car that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2002. Unveiled at the 2000 Monterey Historic Races by Steve Saleen, the Saleen S7 supercar was the first car built by Saleen. The strong passion for racing materialized in a few months the S7-R which debuted two months after the presentation of the traditional car at Laguna Seca. Franz Konrad, Terry Borcheller and Toni Seiler at the wheel of the Saleen S7-R n.66 finished twenty-six at the 24 Hours Le Mans 2002 with a gap of one hundred and nine laps from the winners

The race won to Emanuele Pirro, Frank Biella, Tom Kristensen with the Audi R8 n.1. Second the Audi R8 n.2 of Johnny Herbert, Rinaldo Capello and Christian Pescatori, detached from a lap, while in third position Marco Werner, Philipp Peter, Michael Krumm with the Audi R8 n.3.
