HISTORY
The Tyrrell – Ford Cosworth 010 is a car that participated in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1980. The British team entrusted Maurice Philippe with the design of the new car. The 010 had an aluminum monocoque and was equipped with the traditional Ford Cosworth engine and the Hewland gearbox. Jean-Pierre Jarier at the wheel of the Tyrrell – Ford Cosworth 010 n.3 finished thirteenth in the Formula 1 World Champion 1980 with six points in season. The French driver obtained the best result in the Grand Prix of Belgium, Great Britain and Holland with a fifth place.
With the team mate Derek Daly the Tyrrell team obtained the sixth place in the constructors’ championship. In the last two races of the season a third car was deployed for the young driver Mike Thackwell.
The championship was won by the William FW07B of Alan Jones
