HISTORY
The Williams – Ford Cosworth FW07B participated in the 1980 F1 World Championship. The car was designed by Patrick Head, partner with Frank Williams of the team. The Ford Cosworth DFV engine was very reliable at the time and the British team’s single-seat car took full advantage of the ground effect. The FW07 model competed for three consecutive seasons in the World Championships of 1979, 1980 and 1981. In the FW07B the two fins on the side bellies were removed, in front of the rear wheels present in the previous year’s version. Carlos Reutemann with Williams – Ford Cosworth FW07B n.28 finished third in the Formula 1 World Champion 1980 with one victory in season.
The Argentine driver obtained the best result in the Grand Prix of Monaco at Montecarlo circuit with a first place in addition to seven podium in season.
With the team mate Alan Jones the Williams team obtained the first place in the constructors’ championship
