HISTORY
The Lola Aston Martin DBR1-2 is a prototype that participated in the 2009 Le Mans Series Championship. For the 50 years since its only victory at the 1959 Le Mans 24 Hours with the Aston Martin DBR1, the english team decided to deploy a car in the LMP1 class to challenge the Peugeot 908 and Audi R15 favorites. The livery with the colors of the sponsor Gulf made the car very vintage.
Jan Charouz, Tomas Enge and Stefan Mucke with the Lola Aston Martin DBR1-2 n.007 arrived fourth at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2009, despite the efforts and perseverance, the french and the germans proved superior. The trio won the 2009 Le Mans Series Championship, winning two wins in the 1000 km of Silverstone and the 1000 km of the Nurburgring.
The race won by Peugeot 908 HDI FAP n.9 with Alexander Wurz, Marc Gene and David Brabham, Stefhane Sarrazin, Sebastien Bourdais and Frank Montagny with the Peugeot 908 HDI FAP n.8 finished second, while third the Audi R15 TDI n.1 with Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish, Rinaldo Capello
