Lewis Hamilton with the McLaren Mercedes Benz MP4/23 n.22 won the 2008 World Championship, for the English rider was the first career world title.
During the season he won five Grand Prix: GP Australia, GP Monaco, GP Great Britain, GP Germany and GP China. The duel of the season was between Hamilton and Felipe Massa with Ferrari, the two competed for the world until the last Grand Prix in Brazil, where Massa won the race but Hamilton with a pass on Glock at the last corner reached the fifth position and won the title with a point on the Brazilian driver. The team mate of the English driver for that season was Kovalainen, who won the Hungarian GP, despite the six seasonal victories the English team failed to win the constructors’ title.
