HISTORY

The Adler Super Trumpf Rennlimousine is a car that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1937. Adler developed Paul Jaray’s ideas by modifying the Trumpf chassis into a Rennlimousine, or racing sedan, for the Trumpf chassis. He used this car for tests and above all, records and races.

The German Adler team with Hans-Otto Lohr and Paul Von Guilleaume at the wheel of Adler Super Trumpf Rennlimousine n.34 finished ninth in the 24 hours of Le Mans 1937 with a gap of forty-two laps to winner. The race won by twin car Bugatti 57G Tank n.2 with Jean Pierre Wimille and Robert Benoist. In second place came the Delahaye 135CS n.14 led by Paul and Mongin with a gap of seven laps, while in third place the Delahaye 135CS n.10 of Dreyfus and Stoffel with a gap of twelve laps.

In the race the numerous French teams gave life to a close fight, conditioned by the accident that caused the death of two pilots, the English Pat Fairfield and the French Rene Kippeurt.
