HISTORY

The Audi R18 e-tron quattro n.2 is the prototype of the german manufacturer that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2013. After the victory in previous year with the Audi R18 n.1, the second version of the R18 e-tron quattro presented an evolution of the hybrid system with a storage system A flywheel designed by Williams Hybrid Power, it gave off power to the front wheels, making the car out of corners a four-wheel drive.

The German Audi Sport Team Joest with Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler at the wheel of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro n.1 finished fifth in the 24 hours of Le Mans 2013 with a gap of ten laps to winner.

The race was won by Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Loic Duval at the wheel of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro n.2. In second place finishe the Toyota TS 030 – Hybrid n.8 with Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi, Stephane Sarrazin with a gap of one lap, while in third position Audi R18 e-tron quattro n.3 with Marc Gene, Olivier Jarvis, Lucas Di Grassi with a gap of one lap.
