HISTORY

The BMW M1 is a car that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. The German car of Hervè Poulain’s team is remembered for the livery created by the famous artist Andy Warhol, who painted the entire body by hand. Manfred Winkelhock, Hervé Poulain and Marcel Mignot at the wheel of the BMW M1 n.76 finished sixth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1979, with a gap of eighteen laps from the winner of the race, Porsche 935-K3 n.41 with Klaus Ludwig, Don Whittington, Bill Whittington.
