BMW V12 LMR n.15
HISTORY
The BMW V12 LMR n.15 is the prototype of the german manufacturer that participated in the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1999. BMW in collaboration with Williams designed this car, which debuted at Le Mans in 1998, the main features were the uncovered cockpit and aerodynamics with very simple lines to minimize the impact on travel.
Pierluigi Martini, Yannik Dalmas e Joachim Winkelhock won the 1999 Le Mans 24 Hours with the BMW V12 LMR n.15. The trio with a regular guide, took advantage of the problems had, from the sister car retired due to a runway exit, and from the very fast Toyota GT-One who had problems with the tire for the whole race. Also in 1999, with the guide Lehto, Kristensen and Muller the BMW won the 12 hours of Sebring.
After the unlucky season of 1998, and the redemption of the following year, BMW decided to retire.
