HISTORY
The BMW V12 LMR is the prototype of the german manufacturer that participated in the 12 hours of Sebring in 1999. BMW in collaboration with Williams designed this car, which debuted at Le Mans in 1998, the main features were the uncovered cockpit and aerodynamics with very simple lines to minimize the impact on travel.
The German BMW Motorsports team with Tom Kristensen, Jyrky Jarvy Lehto and Jörg Muller at the wheel of the BMW V12 LMR n.42 winner the 12 hours of Sebring 1999.
In second place the Ridley & Scott MKIII n.20 with Butch Leitzinger, Elliot Forbes-Robinson and James Weaver of Dyson Racing team with a gap of few seconds while in third position the Audi R8R n.77 with Michele ALboreto, Rinaldo Capello and Stephan Johansson of Audi Sport Team Joest with a gap of three laps.
