HISTORY
The Ferrari 412 P is a car that participated in the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans. After the scorching defeats suffered in 1966 by the Ford in the Sport Prototype Championship, the Maranello team replaced the Ferrari P3 with the new model 412 P. Designed by Piero Drogo, the car was much more powerful and underwent some changes during the season.
The English Maranello Concessionaires LTD team with Richard Attwood and Piers Courage at the wheel of the Ferrari 412 P n.23 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1967 due to broken oil pump after two hundred eight laps.
The challenge between the Italian team and the Ford American, proved to be very beautiful. The race won by Ford MK IV n.1 of Gurney and Foyt, in second place the Ferrari 330 P4 n.21 with Ludovico Scarfiotti and Mike Parkes, while in third position the Ferrari 330 P4 n.24 with Willy Mairesse, ‘Beurlys’ Jean Blaton. At the end of the season, Enzo Ferrari was content with the victory of the Sport Prototype Championship.
