HISTORY
The Gulf Mirage GR8 Cosworth is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1975. The car was designed expressly for the French race by the team of John Wyer supported by the oil sponsor Gulf, the English team manager had announced the withdrawal, but I think about it after the change of regulation that greatly limited consumption and that led to the renunciation of many official builders. Vern Schuppan and Jean-Pierre Jaussaud at the wheel of the Gulf Mirage GR8 – Cosworth n.10 finished third at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1975 with a gap of six laps from the winners.
Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell won the race with the Gulf Mirage GR8 – Cosworth n.11, which thanks to the American engine showed a great regularity and reliability, while the Ligier JS2 Cosworth n.5 Jean-Louis Lafosse and Guy Chasseuil with a gap of one lap.
