HISTORY

The Jaguar XJR-12 is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1990. The car was designed by Tony Southgate and derived from the Jaguar XJR-9 winner of 1988, and regulated both for the Sport Prototype Championship and for the ‘IMSA GTP, the English team use the XJR-12 only for races with a duration of over 12 hours.

The English Silk Cut Jaguar team with John Nielsen, Price Cobb and Martin Brundle at the wheel of the Jaguar XJR-12 n.3 winner the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1990, in second place came the Jaguar XJR-12 n.2 of Jan Lammers, Andy Wallace and Franz Konrad, completing a double for the British manufacturer, both cars took advantage of the withdrawal 15 minutes from the end of the Porsche 962C n.45 of Tiff Needell, Anthony Reid, David Sers. The two crews with reversed positions obtained a splendid shotgun for the 24-hour Daytona.
