HISTORY
The Ligier – Renault JS27 is a single-seater that participated in the 1986 Formula 1 World Championship. Designed by Michel Tétu and Michel Beaujon, the car was equipped with a very fast but high consumption Renault turbo engine.
Jacques Laffitte with the Ligier – Renault JS27 n.26 arrived eighth in the 1986 Formula 1 World Championship with two podium in season. The good start of the season for the French driver had a severe blow at the British Grand Prix at the Brands Hatch circuit. An accident at the start involved Laffitte, the impact caused his legs to fracture. Months later the transalpine healed but decided to retire from racing. Together with his teammate René Arnoux they took Ligier to fifth place in the constructors’ title.
