HISTORY
The Lola T280 – Cosworth is a sports car that took part in the 1972 24 Hours of Le Mans. Lola boss Eric Broadley in 1972 commissioned designer Bob Marston in collaboration with young Patrick Head and John Barnard to build a frame to match the reliable 3-liter Ford Cosworth DFV engine.
The Swiss Ecurie Bonnier team with Hughes De Fierlandt and Gerard Larrousse at the wheel of the Lola T280 – Cosworth n.7 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1972, due to broken transmission after eighty-six laps. The race was won by Matra Simca MS670 n.15 of Henry Pescarolo and Graham Hill. Second the Matra Simca MS670 n.14 with Francois Cevert and Howden Ganley, while in third position the Porsche 908 LH Coupe n.60 with Reinhold Joest, Michel Weber, Mario Casoni
