HISTORY
The Lotus – Climax 25 is the car that dominated the Formula One World Championship in 1963. Colin Chapman with the project of version 25 revolutionized the formula 1, the car no longer had a tubular chassis, but a monocoque structure that made the car very rigid and light, but above all low and narrow with which frontal penetration was reduced.
Jim Clark at the wheel of the Lotus – Climax 25 won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1963, winning his first drivers’ title. The Scottish pilot dominated the season, won seven races: Belgium, Holland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Mexico and South Africa. Lotus also won its first constructors title. With the same year the Lotus 25 was modified to participate in the 500 miles of Indianapolis, where Jim Clark obtained a second place.
The teammate Trevor Taylor finished sixteenth in the drivers’ championship with one point in season in the Monaco Grand Prix.
