The Japanese Mazdaspeed Team with David Kennedy, Jean-Michel Martin and Philippe Martin at the wheel of the Mazda 727C n.87 finished fifteenth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1984 with a gap of seventy-four laps from the winner the race was Porsche 956B n.7 with Klaus Ludwig and Henry Pescarolo, in second position the Porsche 956B n.33 with David Hobbs, Philippe Streiff and Sarel Van Der Merwe while in third position the Porsche 956B with David Hobbs, Philippe Streiff and Sarel Van Der Merwe.
