HISTORY
McLaren – Ford Cosworth M23 n.12 is a car that participated at the Formula 1 World Championship in 1976. After the world championship won in 1974 with McLaren M23, Emerson Fittipaldi lost the world championship the following year, in 1976 the English team decided to to replace the Brazilian driver with a young English driver who had shown excellent results with Hesketh. The change of regulation that came into force from the Grand Prix of Spain forced all the teams to remove the high air intakes that characterized the formula 1 of the mid seventies.
Jochen Mass with McLaren – Ford Cosworth M23 n.12 his arrived ninth in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1976, with two podium in season. The German driver’s best results were third places in the Grand Prix in South Africa and in the home race in Germany on the circuit of Nurburgring. Teammate James Hunt won the drivers ‘title and with their points McLaren finished second in the constructors’ championship
