The McLaren – Ford Cosworth M29 is a car that participated at the Formula 1 World Champion in 1980. The British team with John Watson at the wheel of the McLaren – Ford Cosworth M29 n.7 finished eleventh in the Formula 1 World Champion 1980 with six points in season. The English driver obtained the best result in the Grand Prix of USA West at Long Beach circuit and Grand Prix of Canada at Montreal circuit with a fourth place.

With the team mate Alain Prost the Mclaren team obtained the ninth place in the constructors’ championship

The championship was won by the William FW07B of Alan Jones
