HISTORY

The McLaren – TAG Porsche MP4/2B is a car that participated at the 1985 Formula 1 World Championship. After dominating the 1984 World Cup with McLaren MP4/2, the Woking team was also a big favorite for the season 1985. The car was simply updated with engine upgrading, tire supplier change with Goodyear and rear wing modification due to regulation.

Niki Lauda with the McLaren – TAG Porsche MP4/2B n.1 finished tenth in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1985, with one victory in season. The teammate Alain Prost with the McLaren – TAG Porsche MP4/2B n.2 won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1985. McLaren with Lauda and Prost victory won the Constructors’ World Championship.
