The Panoz Esperante GTR-1 – Ford is a prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997.
The British David Price Racing Team with David Brabham, Perry McCarthy and Harry Bundy at the wheel of the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 – Ford n.55 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1997 due to fire after one hundred forty-five laps.
The winner race was the TWR Porsche WSC n.7 of Michele Alboreto, Stafan Johansson and Tom Kristensen. second the McLaren F1 GTR-BMW n.41 with Pierre-Henri Raphanel, Anders Olofsson, Jean-Marc Gounon while third the McLaren F1 GTR-BMW n.43 with Eric Helary, Peter Kox, Roberto Ravaglia.
