HISTORY

The Porsche 935 K3/79 is a car that participated in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1980. To promote the Apple brand, Steve Jobs agreed with the Dick Barbour Racing team to sponsor their Porsche 935 in the 1980 season. Bobby Rahal, Bob Garretson and Allan Moffat at the wheel of the Porsche 935 K3/79 n.71 took part in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1980. The trio was forced to retire after eleven hours of the race due to the engine failure. The race was won by the Rondeau M379B n.16 by Jean Rondeau and Jean-Pierre Jabouille.

During the season, the Apple-sponsored Dick Barbour Racing team car took third place at the Road America 500 with Rahal and Garretson.
