HISTORY

The Porsche 956 GTI n.14 is a prototype that took part in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1985. The German car purchased by the Richard Lloyd Racing Team, was one of the seven private cars registered for the French race. The British team made structural changes to make the 956 lighter.

The British Richard Lloyd Racing team with Jonathan Palmer, James Weaver and Richard Lloyd at the wheel of the Porsche 956 GTI n.14 finished second at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1985. Starting from ninth position, the English trio fought for victory until the middle of the race. An electrical problem forced them to the pits for a while. Palmer returned to seventh place and began a furious comeback that took them to second place with a gap of three laps from the Porsche 956B n.7 of Team Joest Racing driven by Ludwig, Barilla and Winter.
