The German New-Man Joest Racing team with Mauricio De Narvaez, Kenper Miller and Paul Belmondo at the wheel of the Porsche 956 n.8 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1985 due to accident after two hundred seventy-seven laps. The race was won by Porsche 956B n.7 of Ludwig, Barilla and Winter deployed by the Joest Racing team winners of the race. In second place the Porsche 956 GTI n.14 with Jonathan Palmer, James Weaver, Richard Lloyd, while in third position the Porsche 962C n.2 with Derek Bell and Hans Joachim Stuck.
