HISTORY

The Porsche 962C n.17 is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1987. After the victory with the Porsche 962C n.1 of 1986 the builder of Stuttgart has to face the rise of the Jaguar XJR-8 that had won the first four races of the 1987 Sports Prototype Championship, during the test the official team obtained the first row thanks to the use of the qualifying engine.

Stuck, Bell and Holbert won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1987 with the Porsche 962C n.17 for the trio was the second consecutive victory, in second place came the 962C n.72 of Team Primagaz Competition of Lassig, Yver and De Dryver , with a gap of 20 laps, the Jaguars despite being faster in the race had many difficulties. The Porsche 962C won with Bell, Holbert, Robinson and Al Unser jr also the 24 Hours of Daytona of 1987.
