HISTORY

The Renault RE40 n.15 is a single-seater that participated in the 1983 Formula 1 World Championship. Thanks to the work of engineers Bernard Dudot, Michel Tétu and Jean-Claude Migeot, the French team brought its first car on the track with the carbon fiber body and flat bottom. The pilots for the new year were Alain Prost and Eddie Cheever.

Alain Prost at the wheel of the Renault RE40 n.15 arrived second in the 1983 Formula 1 World Championship, with four victories.
The transalpine driver proved constant throughout the season, winning four victories in France, Belgium, Great Britain and Austria, three more podiums and three pole positions. This allowed him to fight for the world title until the last race in South Africa where the engine failure forced him to retire, he was overtaken by Nelson Piquet with the Brabham BT52 that crossed the finish line in third position and won the title with two points of advantage.
