HISTORY
The Renault RE40 n.16 is a single-seater that participated in the 1983 Formula 1 World Championship. Thanks to the work of engineers Bernard Dudot, Michel Tétu and Jean-Claude Migeot, the French team brought its first car on the track with the carbon fiber body and flat bottom. The pilots for the new year were Alain Prost and Eddie Cheever.
Eddie Cheever at the wheel of the Renault RE40 n.16 arrived seventh in the 1983 Formula 1 World Championship, with twenty-two points in season. The best result for the American driver was the second place in the Grand Prix of Canada on the Montreal circuit.
The championship drivers won by Nelson Piquet with the Brabham BT52.
