The French Jean Rondeau Oceanic team with Henri Pescarolo and Patrick Tambay at the wheel of the Rondeau M379C – Cosworth n.26 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1981, due to broken fuel pump after forty-one laps. The race won by Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx at the wheel of the Porsche 936-81 n.11 that starting from the Pole Position. In second position the Rondeau M379C n.8 of Jean-Louis Schlesser, Philippe Streiff and Jacky Haran. While in third position the Rondeau M379C – Cosworth n.7 with Gordon Spice and Francois Migault
