HISTORY
The Toyota TS050 hybrid is the third LMP1 car produced by the Japanese company since its return to the endurance category. The car completely revolutionized by the previous TS040, is equipped with a twin-turbo 2.4-liter V4 engine combined with an 8mj hybrid system. The hybrid system generates its power by recovering energy from the braking system at the front and rear by means of an ion lithium battery.
The Japanese Toyota Gazoo Racing team with Stephane Sarrazin, Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway at the wheel of the Toyota Hybrid TS050 n.6 finished second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2016. Touching once again the victory of the race with the number 5, which stopped three minutes from the end of twenty-four hours complaining of a loss of power of the hybrid system. The race won by Porsche 919 Hybrid n.2 with Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb
In the World Endurance Championship he obtains the best result with the 6-hour victory of the Fuji with the number 6 piloted by Sarrazin, Kobayashi and Conway.
